Celebration of the World Book Day at our International School
The celebration started with an introduction of informative topics about the origin of the celebration, the positive effects of reading and some advice on how to implement reading habits.
Afterwards, the students three different activity stations:
- Art (creating bookmarks and decorating potatoes)
- Book trailers and book creations
- Charades and Pictograms.
The time passed by very quickly, as the students were busy experiencing how to use different technics to fold, paint and search for motifs for their art pieces. The time spend with informative games, gave them a good idea about famous books and writers. The book trailers they have prepared ahead gave them the opportunity to deal with the essence of the message in the book, and to put in scene the main aspects described in the book. Many students discovered that they had also a story to tell and created their own book or short story.
Now, the best stories, designing and books representations (pictograms) will received a Graff Voucher. We look forward to celebrating next year again a World Book Day full of ideas, reading fostering and fun.
