Biotechnological School Lab

Firstly, the theory and instructions were explained by the researchers, subsequently the IB students were guided during the lab work. Tasks such as DNA extraction, PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) tests, Gel Electrophoresis and Analysis were done on anonymised DNA samples from the students.

This trip was challenging in the aspect that the students were required to follow precise instruction and proceed carefully. However, it also gave the students a better and more precise idea of the importance of these practices in biotechnology and forensics. 

Overall, the IB students all enjoyed the educational event, and would highly recommend it.
